Builds The workshop

Things I’ve built.

Away from the bench and the mic, I build software, mostly AI tools that run on my own machines. Atlas came first. A lot of what I learned building it went into the ones that followed.

  1. 01 Atlas A personal AI mentor council. Paused
  2. 02 Maximus An AI content studio for Anomalist’s clients. Retired
  3. 03 Delta A daily read on what’s new in AI. Running
  4. 04 Podcast-buddy Every episode of The Days Grimm, searchable. Running

Paused April – October 2026

Atlas

A personal AI mentor council.

I wanted advice drawn from real ideas, not generic chatbot answers. Atlas was a council of mentor voices built on a large library of notes about discipline, business and philosophy. I could ask it anything in a chat and get an answer that showed where each idea came from.

  • Chat on Telegram, with sources for every answer
  • A morning briefing every day at 6 AM
  • Kept track of my goals between conversations
  • Wrote journal prompts and weekly digests

Built with

  • Python
  • Hermes Agent
  • Qdrant
  • SQLite
  • Ollama
  • Telegram

Delta and Podcast-buddy both grew out of its design.

Retired April – October 2026

Maximus on OpenClaw

An AI content studio for Anomalist’s clients.

Maximus wrote social posts for the studio’s clients. Every morning a team of AI agents worked from each client’s brand voice to draft the day’s posts, and a critic pass checked and refined every draft before a person saw it. Clients reviewed, edited or rejected posts in their own portal, and the system was built to learn from those choices.

  • Daily drafts for each client, in their own brand voice
  • Draft, critique, refine and review before anything reached a person
  • A client portal to review, edit and publish posts
  • Research on each client’s competitors, market and customers

Built with

  • OpenClaw
  • Python
  • Cloudflare Workers
  • D1
  • Next.js

Running Since April 2026

Delta

A daily read on what’s new in AI.

Delta keeps my co-founder and me up to date on what’s new in AI. It follows the researchers and labs doing the work, reads what they publish and turns it into a short brief in plain English. It’s an internal tool, just for the two of us.

  • Checks its sources every three hours and writes a brief
  • Transcribes new episodes of AI podcasts
  • Answers questions in chat, citing where each answer came from
  • Suggests ideas worth writing about

Built with

  • Python
  • FastAPI
  • Qdrant
  • Whisper
  • Cloudflare Workers
  • Telegram
Fig. 04 Ask, then jump to the moment

Running Since July 2026

Podcast-buddy

Every episode of The Days Grimm, searchable.

A companion app for the podcast. It has transcribed the whole back catalog, so I can ask what a guest said about something and jump straight to that moment in the episode. It also takes care of a lot of the busywork after we record.

  • Answers with a link to the exact minute in the episode
  • Drafts titles, descriptions, chapters and social posts
  • Finds moments worth clipping and cuts vertical clips
  • Tells Brian’s voice from mine, so transcripts show who’s talking

Built with

  • Python
  • FastAPI
  • Qdrant
  • Whisper
  • Local AI models
  • ffmpeg
